Launceston detectives have appealed for public assistance as they continue to investigate an armed robbery at the Evandale Post Office on Wednesday.
A man reportedly entered the High Street business about 10am and produced a weapon.
He then directed a staff member to open a safe before leaving on foot with a significant amount of cash, police say.
The man is described as being 187 centimetres tall with a very slim build, a distinctive scar on his nose, which is crooked and/or potentially broken.
In other news:
The man was wearing a dark-coloured hooded jumper and carrying a shopping bag.
Police believe he left Evandale in a green, older-style Holden Commodore.
Anyone who was in the Evandale area on Wednesday between 9.45am and 10.15am and who has dash-cam or other footage is asked to submit it through the evidence portal.
Anyone with information should contact Launceston CIB on 131 444 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online.
