The 20-year-old hasn't raced competitively for five months, since last year's penultimate round at Monza, but his Formula 3 team Compos Racing have shown faith in the young star.
"Last year was difficult, being my first year at this level and the team's first year with the new-specification car," he said.
"Although it ended disappointingly, what is really important is that we all learnt an enormous amount. Also the team has strengthened its engineering staff since last year, and that should make quite a difference.
"I feel like I have unfinished business in this championship and I can't wait for the season to start."
Competing in the Formula 1 support category, which he hopes will get him closer to his goal, Peroni's recovery has taken longer than expected.

Suffering a broken vertebra in the crash, he was restricted by a back brace for three months after an initial 30-day diagnosis before building his fitness back to racing standard.
Peroni is preparing for the season's first testing session in Bahrain at the start of next month before properly getting underway at the same track on March 20-22.
