Pets Life owner and vet Dr Jenny Griffiths started the business in 2017; she said her business had been in need of a bigger space soon after opening.
"We were looking for somewhere ideally in Legana but sadly we couldn't find anything," she said.
"After having a chat with the building owners and council they said yes and they renovated it for us and put all the new rooms in and everything."
In other news:
Dr Griffiths said the building was a cordial factory in a former life, and that it was built about 1840 making it one of the oldest buildings in Launceston.
The building was open-plan when Dr Griffiths first took the space; ARTAS designed the interior of the building, mixing the old, rustic feel to the space with a new, white finish.
She said it was great to have a blank canvas to work with when designing a new clinic.
"It's really awesome that they saved it [the building] and now we get to come in and have the space," Dr Griffiths said.
The new clinic comes with two consult rooms, a surgical theatre, an x-ray room, cat and dog kennels as well as a treatment area.
Dr Griffiths said her clientele have been very supportive of the move, something she was worried about given the increased travel distance from Legana.
"Hopefully they've been happy with what we did in Legana and they'll continue to follow us here and we'll build on that with new clients here in town," she said.
