Two swimming relay teams, from Launceston Aquatic Club, and a turbo-charged teenager from South Esk, set records tumbling in a fast and furious two-day meet at the Launceston pool.
Jade Nichols, 17, Georgia Woods, 16, Chelsea Savage, 17, and Dawson Howell, 18, set new state and all-comer records in the women's 18-and-under 400m medley relay with a time of 4:47.92.
Nichols, Savage and Howell teamed up with Amy Muldoon to claim a new all-comer record in the women's 18-and-under 400m freestyle relay (4:19.86).
Meanwhile, Sophie Hills, 13, wrote her name into the record books again, with three new Tasmanian s9 multi-class benchmarks, in the 50m freestyle (34.34 seconds), 50m backstroke (44.86) and 50m butterfly (40.03).
The Northern clubs' talent was also reflected in the medal haul.
South Esk topped the table with 65 medals, following by Hobart Aquatic with 59 and Launceston Aquatic with 54.
Swimming official and Launceston president Amanda Muldoon had high praise for all those taking part.
"We were delighted with the way our swimmers performed over the weekend and really excited with the performance of Northern Tasmanian swimmers across the board," she said.
More than 200 swimmers took part, from Burnie, Cradle Coast, Launceston, South Esk, Riverside, Hobart, Sandy Bay and HC.
A Swimming Tasmania spokesperson added: "Overall it was a very successful meet, with some really exciting performances.
"It was great to see so many strong swimmers coming through in the younger age groups."
The swimmers are in fine form, in the lead-up to the next key event on the Tasmanian calendar, the state long-course championships in Hobart from March 5 to 9.
