Collingwood's Jeremy Howe, dual-premiership Tiger Jack Riewoldt and Sun Lachie Weller will line up for the John Longmire-coached side against the Victorians later this month.
Squads of 27 players were selected by Longmire and opposing coach Damien Hardwick, with at least one player from each AFL team lining up in the contest as last year's grand finalists, Riewoldt's Richmond and GWS, boast six members involved.
With all ticket proceeds from the clash set to go towards relieving the devastation caused by bushfires all around the country, the donations continue to grow with $2.5 million donated by the 18 AFL clubs through the players' association.
The clash marks the first contest under the state of origin banner since sides of the same names faced off in 2008, with Victoria coming away 17-point victors.
Leading Blue
Former North Hobart key forward Liam Jones is among three players promoted to Carlton's leadership group.
Now a pillar of the Blues' defence, the ex-Western Bulldog, who turns 29 on Monday, was called up alongside defensive partner Jacob Weitering and second-year star Sam Walsh, joining Sam Docherty, Patrick Cripps, Marc Murphy and Ed Curnow.
Turning his career around with the switch to defence, Jones is signed to the Blues until 2022 and if all goes well, will play his 150th AFL game next season.
Flying Crow
Launceston's Chayce Jones has pressed his case for round one selection following a blinding match simulation session for the Crows.
Spending the majority of the match in the middle, the second-year player impressed with pace around the stoppages as well as creating several pivotal passages of play.
The 20-year-old created Taylor Walker's first goal of the contest, hit up Shane McAdam with a low stabbing pass and later, made his own highlight reel by bursting away from a stoppage and slotting a major from outside 50.
Hall out
Aaron Hall's wretched run of injuries continues with the former Gold Coast Sun ruled out of North Melbourne's first pre-season clash.
Last featuring at AFL level in round six following form and mental health issues, the 29-year-old, who plied his trade with Hobart, suffered back spasms after his side's intraclub match on Friday.
Drafted in 2012, the midfielder has played 109 games at AFL level.
