Tyrell Anthony Bailey, 23, was walking around the middle of George Town with a stubby of Jack Daniels in his hand when police noticed him on June 23 last year.
According to a police facts statement read out in court, Bailey appeared to be drunk and became argumentative when he was told to dispose of the alcohol.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Police took the stubby from Bailey and as he walked off, Bailey called one of the officers a bitch.
In full view of two female police officers, Bailey then urinated on a newsagency.
Two weeks after that encounter with police, Bailey gave officers grief again at Lonnies Niteclub in Launceston.
Police were trying to escort patrons out of the venue because of a disturbance on a staircase when Bailey thrust his arms and had to be arrested.
Bailey pulled free from the grasp of police initially and once on the ground, he pulled his arms under his body so handcuffs couldn't be applied.
When handcuffs were put on Bailey, he told officers to watch out as he would knock them out.
Bailey pleaded guilty to six charges - including abusing, threatening and resisting police - when he appeared in Launceston Magistrates Court on Monday.
Lawyer Lucy Flanagan said Bailey did not have a problem with alcohol and hoped to find a job once he had surgery for a wrist injury that prevented him from working.
"He was extremely embarrassed by his behaviour," Ms Flanagan told the court.
Magistrate Sharon Cure convicted Bailey and fined him $800.
"I realise that you're on government benefits and that will be difficult," she said.
"You'll be paying this off for a while."
