But the home clash against New Town on Saturday is set to arguably be his side's best chance of throwing out the long-term processes for one match to demand nothing less than a third win.
"I think it still is about the development of players," he said. "We also know this is a very winnable game and one that we've penciled it down.
"It's one of those matches that I think we should really be ultra-competitive. Obviously, our aim every week is to win, but we think this week we match up very well."
New Town is the only side that do not have the better head-to-head record over the Raiders in three meetings.

The rookies did win the one-dayer in only their second match as an entity and they finished off the club's inaugural season with a top red-ball victory.
Their only loss was earlier this summer despite being on top until the final 10 overs of the game.
Gower said his charges will look to build on a strong finish where the visitors fell just 14 runs short of an outright win at Glenorchy.
"While we were disappointed to just miss out last week, I think there is some really good signs," he said.
That centres on the batting form of Jake Williams, Miles Barnard and Brodie Hayes.
"There's going to be a big onus on the top four to get a good score to enable us to be really competitive at the NTCA No.2," Gower said.
