Councils can submit infrastructure proposals which seek to improve the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists.
Infrastructure Minister Michael Ferguson said the government was investing more than $1 million each year to reduce road casualties through infrastructure improvements.
"Over the past five years, more than 40 per cent of serious casualties on Tasmanian roads were vulnerable road users," Mr Ferguson said.

The projects are delivered in partnership with local government with past infrastructure including electronic speed signs in high pedestrian areas, enhanced pedestrian crossings and new off-road pathways.
"As a community, we must work together to reduce the number of cyclist, pedestrian and motorcyclist fatalities and injuries, and improving infrastructure is one of the solutions," Mr Ferguson said.
The closing date for submissions is Friday March 27.
