Tasmania Police has confirmed a George Town house fire on Sunday was deliberately lit.

The fire, which occurred at a Stonehouse Street Housing Tasmania property, was reported to the Tasmania Fire Service about 4.13pm on Sunday.
At least 10 Triple 0 calls came through to the TFS from concerned George Town residents.
"That was really good, so we got onto it pretty quick," the spokesperson said.
The blaze was attended by four vehicles from the George Town Brigade: one medium pumper, one heavy tanker, one medium tanker, and one light tanker.
Police said no one was in the house when emergency services arrived.
About $200,000 worth of damage was done.
According to police, the scene was inspected by TFS examiners as well as detectives who determined the cause of the blaze.
