The Sesame Street Circus Spectacular is in town until February 23.
Circus representative Simon Tait said this tour was the first time Sesame Street characters had been allowed to perform as part of a circus.
"It's been fabulous fun and a tremendous success so far," he said.
"The sesame street characters appeal to all of us up to the age of about 56 who grew up with sesame street."

He said the show has something for all ages.
"We've got the globe of death with the motorbikes, we've got many thrill acts to entertain the adults," he said.
"It's not just a children's program, it's very much for children of all ages."
"It has all the bells and whistles of the circus as well as that wonderful theme of Sesame Street woven throughout the performance."
"People are coming out amazed because a lot of people think it's the sesame street for the kids. They come out blown away, they say we were more entertained then the kids were."
Ring master Michael Keen said the show was the perfect amalgamation of circus and Sesame Street.
"We are really happy to be here, come down and see the show and we look forward to seeing more of Launceston," he said.
Mr Tait said the location was one of the best in Australia.
"I'd like to say thank you to the local council for allowing us to utilise this magnificent location," he said.
