The proposed plan from the Joint Transition Team appointed by the Australian Dairy Plan would see processors and farmers join one standard advocacy group.
Some farmers have raised concerns with the plan, saying it would prevent them from lobbying for better deals from processors in the future.
Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association Dairy Council chair Jeff Cox said it's important to remember the deal is a long way away from being implemented.

Derby dairy farmer Alan Davenport said with the exception of a few glaring examples farmers and processors had worked well together.
"People are expecting them to be able to fix things that are going on with the market where its not really their role," he said.
The JTT proposal is out for public comment.
