Falling to the Belgian at the Burnie International, Bourchier came into Thursday's contest primed for revenge but was unable to get over the line, going down 6-2 7-5 despite leading 5-3 in the second.
After the match, the 24-year-old described his performance as "very average" in a brutal assessment.
"First set, I didn't get into it at all. Second set, I got a break but fell behind the whole time," he said.

"Towards the end I was up but he caught a few backhands late and they landed in and I got broken there so I should be playing a third set right now but yeah, a pretty tough loss.
"He got a little bit lucky on some key points, especially in that third set. Outplayed in the first I was but definitely in the second set, a bit of luck went his way and he got back into it and got confidence from it."
Partnering Akira Santillan, the home-state favourite was dealt with a tighter loss in the evening, falling to Coppejans and the vocal Sergio Martos Gornes 4-6 7-6 10-5.
The dual losses put an end to the Tasmanian's home-state run which included a combined three singles wins in Burnie and Launceston with Bourchier's next move a three-week stint in Mexico for several Challenger tournaments.
