But the cast isn't complete yet. Schneider is searching for a local dog to join her on stage, in what could be a big break for the lucky pooch.
"The dog must be obedient, professional, take direction well and be able to smile at the audience," a spokesperson for Ms Schneider's management team said.
"No previous stage experience is necessary, but ability to walk on stage, jump up on a chair and be sung to, is essential."
A Farewell to Doris is a tribute from six-time Golden Guitar winner Schneider to her musical icon, including songs from Que Sera to the soundtrack of Calamity Jane.
"Doris was multi-talented, a true triple threat: a world-class singer, dancer and actor," Scheider said. "But it is her beautiful spirit that will stay with me."
If you believe you four-legged friend has what it takes to steal the show, send a picture of your dog and explain in 25 words or less why he or she is perfect for the part to management@melindaschneider.com by Monday, March 9, for the show on Saturday, March 14, at the Country Club.
Schneider herself will choose the successful dog, and its owner will receive two complimentary tickets and a packet of schmackos.
