The week has been held on the mainland by the Dietitians Association of Australia; this will be the first year the week is recognised in Tasmania.

Senior clinical dietitian at the LGH and DAA Tasmania chairperson Dr Varitha Kinghorn said with 71 per cent of Tasmanians clinically overweight or obese, now's as important as ever to discuss healthy eating.
"Come and learn how easy it is to learn how to read the label when you go to a supermarket ... learn about the options yourself," she said.
The LGH will host a workshop at Lecture Theatre Level 2 on Thursday, February 13.
Attendees can meet with local dietitians to find out how accessible dietary care is in Tasmania.
