Premier Peter Gutwein will be making his first visit to the site of the controversial proposed Northern prison in Westbury this week.
Mr Gutwein confirmed he and Corrections Minister Elise Archer will be visiting Westbury on Thursday, February 6.
"As Premier I look forward to visiting the Westbury community with ... Elise Archer, to meet with residents regarding the new Northern Regional Prison as part of the Tasmanian Government's ongoing broader engagement program," he said.

The 270-bed, $270 million prison proposal was announced in September 2019 and has drawn a significant divide between residents and stakeholders alike.
