Mr Gutwein confirmed he and Corrections Minister Elise Archer will be visiting Westbury on Thursday, February 6.
"As Premier I look forward to visiting the Westbury community with ... Elise Archer, to meet with residents regarding the new Northern Regional Prison as part of the Tasmanian Government's ongoing broader engagement program," he said.
In other news:
"I would like to thank residents in advance who are taking the time to meet with me to outline concerns and provide feedback.
"This is another opportunity to hear firsthand from community members, which is important to inform the decision-making process for the facility."
The 270-bed, $270 million prison proposal was announced in September 2019 and has drawn a significant divide between residents and stakeholders alike.
