"Hadspen are obviously one of the benchmarks of the competition and have a lot of depth ... so we've just got to hang in there for as long as we can and try and maintain faith," he said.
"If we are consistent in our line and length and determined in our batting in terms of soaking up some balls before we are trying to explode in the run chase, we give ourselves every hope."

Liam Reynolds' side picked up an easy victory over the Bluebacks in round seven and are out to build momentum towards finals but aren't fussed with claiming top spot.
"It's always nice but we will just focus on one game at a time and if results favour our way, we should be close to it but it's not a main focus. We'll just take it week by week and try and get the job done," he said.
Heading into their Longford clash as underdogs, Trevallyn's James Whiteley knows his side has to be better than their previous encounter but trusts their talent and depth.
"I thought our bowling started to come together a little bit last game but then again, blokes are getting in with the batting - we just need to take advantage of that," he said.
We've got talent coming out of our ears, it's just a matter of taking advantage of it.

"We've got talent coming out of our ears, it's just a matter of taking advantage of it and coming through when they need to."
Longford's Jackson Blair is certainly aware of those talents and before taking on Launceston in the statewide T20 competition, he knows that Trevallyn could be a tough task.
"On their day, they've definitely got a lot of blokes who can take games away from us - especially with the bat and then with the ball," he said.
"The feeling's been really good at the moment, we are still training really hard. We are pretty keen to get the cup back so everyone's pretty keen, ready and focused for the weeks to come."
With the side still buzzing after picking up their first win in 322 days two rounds ago, Perth's John Hayes is looking for his batters to stick together against Beaconsfield.
"I think early wickets are always key but I think we've been lacking some partnerships," he said.
"In the last match, I think we surprised Longford a little bit with our endeavours with the ball, we just didn't have enough partnerships through the middle with the bat."
Battling through tough times with player unavailability and movement, Sean Barry's men have a full list to choose from this week and will be welcoming back Chris Walker from suspension.
"Last time against Perth, we bowled really well," he said.
"Our top order didn't fire and we got saved by a couple of really strong partnerships lower down the order to get us to a good total so hopefully our top order can have a bigger impact."
