The business was started four years ago by sisters Christine and Lisa Chandler.

Since then, the food van-based business opened up a location on Charles Street, and has now expanded to George Street.

Christine said the pair were very happy with how the first few days of business have gone.

"We've just been getting a higher demand for our food so that's why we expanded to this space," she said.

The business will offer a different menu from its Charles Street counterpart; All items on VegOut's menus are plant-based.

"We wanted a second location and we were fortunate enough to hear about this space and we thought it was perfect," Lisa said.

"George Street's nice and busy, it's kind of on the opposite side of town to where we are now so it hits the rest of our market that can't get up to Charles Street."

On the business' first day, customers could pay what they believed was an appropriate amount for their food.

"We did it when we opened our other store as well, it gives us an opportunity to see what people are happy to pay for our food," Lisa said.
