The Understanding Multiple Sclerosis free online course was developed by the Menzies Institute in collaboration with MS Limited and the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre.
The course was the most highly ranked on Course Central, a website that lists online courses from around the world based on the average of reviews made by users.
Menzies Institute director Professor Alison Venn said she was proud to see the course recognised.
"MS has been a research focus at Menzies for more than 20 years and is now a key priority with the establishment of the MS Research Flagship Program," she said.
"An important function of the course is ensuring that knowledge shared about MS is evidence-based and up to date with current research."
MS is a neurological disorder with no cure which affected about 26,000 Australians.
The course is designed for those living with MS, carers, healthcare providers, and those interested in learning about the disease.
The course is open for enrollments, with the next iteration beginning on March 16.
