At least two fake crowdfunding scams that claimed to be raising money for the Queenstown man's funeral surfaced after police said he was "presumed deceased" on Friday afternoon.

Inspector Shane LeFevre said there was "some suggestion" one had been started in the United Kingdom.

"We're trying to track down where it came from," he said.

Mr Goss's daughter was outraged by the scams but said crowdfunding platform Donor Box had since suspended an account to stop the flow of dodgy donations.

"If you did donate they asked to contact PayPal as they can refund the money, donor box can not," she said on social media.

Meanwhile, PYBAR Mining Services continues to focus on recovery activities at the Henty Gold Mine.

"Specialist personnel and equipment is either on site or being mobilised to site at present," a company spokesperson said.

"Once the recovery has been completed the incident will be fully investigated."

Inspector LeFevre said "every facet" of the incident would be explored during an upcoming coronial investigation.

Mr Goss was believed to be have been killed by a collapse at Henty early on Thursday morning.

Three dimensional mapping of the site revealed a loader he was assigned to at the time of the incident had fallen into a hole and been crushed by rocks.

Emergency services, other mining companies and community members are continuing to assist in the recovery effort.
