Thompson scored 62 from 63 shots to capture the open grade title on Sunday.
Royce Normington from Eastern Goldfields shot 79 from 80 to edge out Ashley Bolwell from Central Wimmera by one in AA grade.
Spring Bay's Chris Chapman had a brilliant win in A Grade, the Tasmanian finishing with 61 from 63.
Deloraine woman Fiona Atkins, representing Mersey, was second with 55 from 59.

But for Mersey clubmate Chris Dornauf, victory in B grade came about by just one shot with a 47 from 51 score.
Cohuna's Sam Grainger won C grade with 44 from 50.
Wagin's Sandra Moffat had been well on target to claim the women's division with 62 from 64. Poppa Viney, of Echuca, was the best of the veterans, scoring 46 from 50.
While St Helens shooter Jebb Wilson took out the junior title with 46 from 50.
