West Tamar residents were recognised for their contributions to the region at the municipality's 2020 Australia Day Awards on Thursday night.

About 100 people came to the Windsor Community Centre to celebrate the recipients of various awards.
Frances Graham was awarded citizen of the year, she said she was delighted to receive the award.
"It was a bit of a shock for me, there were so many people nominated who had done so much for the community," she said.
"It was such an honour to receive the award."
In other news:
Ms Graham has worked with a number of community groups including the West Tamar Arts Group and Inner Wheel.
She has also co-ordinated charity fashion shows and acted as chaplain for services at the Exeter RSL.
"It's [West Tamar] a wonderful community to be a part of," Ms Graham said.

- Young citizen of the year - Josh Partridge.
- Young sportsperson of the year - Hayley Older.
- Community group of the year - Riverside Neighbourhood Watch.
- Community event of the year - St Anthony's Fireworks Night 2019.
