In their first joint press conference since Peter Gutwein became Tasmanian Premier, Mr Gutwein and unsuccessful challenger, Infrastructure Minister Michael Ferguson, said the Perth Link bypass was 12 months ahead of schedule.

Mr Gutwein said the Perth Link was an almost $100 million investment.
"This has employed 100 people every day for more than 18 months," he said.
Mr Ferguson said the project would be completed by May.
"We look forward to it being opened," he said.
