One of the Tigers' most experienced heads after transferring from New South Wales in May, Carey will play her final WNCL game of the campaign on Thursday before joining up with the Southern Stars for a tri-series against India and England.
The Tigers look unlikely to better their third-place finish of last season after going 2-3 from their first five matches, but Carey points to Northern young guns Courtney Webb and Emma Manix-Geeves as proof the state's future is bright.

"I haven't really done too much work myself with them, but I've seen how they've grown over the season with EMG getting some opportunities in the back end of the Big Bash there and getting her confidence up," Carey said.
"She's done really well for us in the WNCL and Courtney Webb's around too.
"I thought she could do for us what she did for the Renegades in the Big Bash but unfortunately she hasn't been playing in the WNCL of late, she's got a bit sick, but there's definitely some really good young talent in that side."
Former Launceston all-rounder Meg Phillips is another to have blossomed in this season's WNCL.
Playing as an opener, the 23-year-old has hit 14, 64 and 30 to go with two three-wicket hauls in her past three games, helping Tasmania secure back-to-back wins against South Australia and push a Victorian side featuring six national representatives.

"I've been really impressed with Meg," Carey said.
"In the pre-season I was watching Meg in the nets and I really liked what I saw - I think she's got a really good technique and temperament, so it's really cool to see her put that out on the field and make some runs.
"Particularly the game against South Australia I think she batted extremely well in tough conditions.
"Hopefully that gives her a lot of confidence going into the next few games - I'm expecting a big one from her soon."
Having top-scored for the Tigers with 73 in Tuesday's five-wicket loss to Victoria, Carey will need to fire again if Tasmania is to turn the tables in Thursday's 10am rematch at the TCA Ground.
"I've found it really good actually," Carey said of her first season in the state.
"I obviously haven't played many games for Tas just yet but it's a really good group to be a part of and I've had a lot of fun so far."
