According to a recent Report on Government Services on aged care, the federal government spent a total of $485.8 million on services last financial year.
There was $144.3 million spent on residential care, $19 million spent on level one and two Home Care packages, $42.7 million on level three and four Home Care packages, and $15.2 million on other home care and support
There were 5110 residential care placements across the state as of June 2019.
Of these placements, 28.1 per cent were in facilities categorised as charitable, 22.7 per cent categorised as community-based, 32.7 per cent as religious, and 15.4 per cent as private for-profit facilities.
The occupancy rate in the state's aged home homes was 89.9 per cent.
Fewer older people in need of assistance reported their needs were not met in 2018, compared to reports in 2015.
However, 80 per cent of people aged over 65 reported they were satisfied with the service they received which was lower than satisfaction ratings reported in 2012 and 2015.
Primary carers were also less satisfied with the service they received.
In a separate report on disability services, seventy-three percent of the $812 million in committed National Disability Insurance Scheme payments were reported to have been used up until June 2019 - or $595 million.
The report said the rate of utilisation of the NDIS by participants could give an indication of the ability of participants to access supports or provide insight about where providers could expand their services.
The labour force participation rate for people with a severe disability was relatively unchanged in 2018 compared to three years ago and was around 25 per cent.
The number of people with a disability who said they had experienced discrimination or had received unfair treatment doubled between 2015 and 2018.
More Tasmanians with a disability avoided services due to their disability over that time.
