In fact it was a pair of brothers - Jack and Jesse Willmott - who provided the spark, taking a combined 8-23 as New Town dismissed the Raiders for 80.
Elder brother Jack proved to be just too good for the Raiders' top order on a challenging pitch, claiming 5-9 and making almost all of the visitors' top six his victims.
Left languishing at 6-36 with captain Cooper Anthes providing almost half of that score following his 17 off 27 balls, all-rounder Joel Lloyd stood up and guided his side through a tough time.

Having not been dismissed before Wednesday's game, the Westbury prospect smacked 35 off 29 balls to end his tournament tally of 111 runs before he was the last wicket to fall to Jaythan Poulson.
As Jack cleaned up the top order, Jesse mopped up his remains - decimating the Raiders' tail with 3-14 off his three overs.
Switching roles into their bowling innings and it would take Anthes himself to claim the Raiders' first wicket, combining with Riverside teammate Sam Artis to dismiss Chrisenthus Kahatapitikankanamalage for 20.
It would only take four more overs for the 16-year-old former Riverside High School student to claim his second, getting rid of Jayden Vince cheaply for five.
Sitting at 2-44, that would be as close at the Raiders would get to an unlikely comeback victory as the defending champions proved to be just too much with Poulson (30 off 60 balls) and William Sartori (16 off 22) unbeaten as they strolled to victory in the 21st over.
The loss brings a sombre end to a strong campaign for the Raiders with Julius Kerwin (156 at 52) leading the runs and Jake Dixon (6 at 3.67), the wickets.
