The delivery of reticulated treated water to Pioneer is "still some way off", a TasWater spokesperson said.

The company is in the process of seeking approval from the Office of the Tasmanian Economic Regulator, an independent body that does not follow a mandated timeframe.
TasWater will also seek approval from the Department of Health for the treated water plan.
"With that in place, planning and design will be undertaken to establish the most effective construction program to connect Pioneer to the TasWater network," the spokesperson said.
They said TasWater was working with residents with metal contamination in their drinking water "to ensure they are kept topped up with potable water until such time as a piped supply of drinking water is available".
TasWater announced in December it would supply treated water to the North-East town of Pioneer, following ongoing lead contamination issues over a period of a decade.
