Mona Foma took to the Launceston blockie route to announce the correct abbreviation of the city's name on Friday.
Launnie was the clear winner of the Lonnie v Launnie competition.
Mona Foma's marketing and communications director Robbie Brammall said the debate had ruined friendships, divided families and rendered some workplaces completely dysfunctional.
However he said Launceston had never been thirstier, so the campaigned worked great from that perspective.
The competition was held through the social media channels, and through the purchasing of the brew from Mona Foma events.
"Our Moo Brew social channels went off. More importantly we've also unearthed another 20 different spellings of Launnie, which feels like an extremely Launceston thing to happen," he said.
"It's important that we ask these sort of questions that hit at the very heart of who we are as a people - but only if people are then rewarded with gloriously sessionable beer from a large bottle."
When the votes were tallied, 70 per cent of votes went to Launnie and 30 per cent to Lonnie.
"That's despite the owners of Lonnie's nightclub spamming the voting, a lot, which we loved," Mr Brammall said.
"We revealed the winner by getting our head brewer Dave to do blockies this morning, with an 'It's Launnie' flag hanging out the window. Feels like Launceston was the winner."

Mr Brammall said there were bigger things for the city to now worry about - such as when will Fitzy's City Cafe be back.
"To all the Lonnie voters out there, here's a sneaky heads up - we've released a super limited number of Lonnie Longneck Lagers, just for you," Mr Brammall said.
"We asked the monkeys in City Park and they said it was the right thing to do. At least that's what we think the humping meant."
