Saturday and Sunday bring with them a plethora of Mona Foma events for people to check out and enjoy.

You could head along to the Interweave Arts Studio and see a livestream of the festival from the point-of-view of a dog from 2pm on Saturday.

At 4.45pm, people can catch masked cowboy singer Orville Peck performing at the Northern Stage.

Sunday brings with it a number of exhibitions and performances for people to see, including didgeridooists Aunty Delmae and William Barton as well as Japanese female pop foursome Chai.

Giddy up for some polo action.

Barnbougle will be hosting its popular polo day on Saturday, with thousands coming from across the state and overseas to enjoy a few spirited games of polo.

This year's polo will feature the first all-Tasmanian team to play polo in 100 years. The event will also feature The Examiner's popular Fashions on the Field event.

The winner of the men's competition will receive a golf day at Barnbougle for four valued at $500.

Winner of the women's section will receive a $450 voucher for an overnight stay and spa pass at Barnbougle spa accommodation for two.

Hobart Hurricanes battle Adelaide Strikers.

The Hobart Hurricanes will be fighting for their finals hopes in a must-win game against the Adelaide Strikers at UTAS Stadium on Sunday.

The 'Canes have struggle mightily this season, however they'll be giving it their all this weekend, which should make for an intense and entertaining match for fans.

The Hurricanes will play the Strikers at 2.45pm on Sunday, January 19.

Big-time artists playing for festival's 29^th year.

The Tamar Valley Folk Festival will be bringing heartfelt and wholesome tunes to George Town.

This year's festival includes performances from The Seekers founder Keith Potger as well as Tarkine-based folk singer Claire Anne Taylor.

About 36 acts will play altogether over the weekend at various locations in George Town including the Memorial Hall and musicians will even be playing on Macquarie Street for the fest.

Guitarist extraordinaire hits the stage.

Blues guitarist Nick Charles will be strumming away at the Royal Oak on Sunday, January 19 at 8pm. Charles is known internationally for his talents with both six and 12-string guitars.
