According to Palmer, she has performed at Mona Foma numerous times, however this year's act will be quite unique.
"They [Mona Foma] asked if I wanted to do anything special and I've been dreaming about doing a project like this for age but I've been trying to find the right place to do it is weird ... if there's an outfit that can help me do this and make it feel right it's Mona Foma," she said.
Palmer will situate herself in a confessional-style booth in City Park on January 16 and 17 at various hours.
There, she will listen to whatever confessions passers-by want to open up about in total confidentiality.
In other news:
The confessions will then be sung out anonymously by Palmer at her performance: There Will Be No Intermission.
"One thing that's important to point out is that being on the receiving end of stories is not new to me," Palmer said.
"I have heard everything, I've heard hundreds of stories of loss and grief, suicide and cancer, abortion and rape and one of the things I've found after almost 20 years of listening to those stories is that they become part of who you are.
"When you go from community to community and you also see that stories are the same in Tasmania and Oklahoma and Canada and Singapore."
Despite the title, there will be an intermission during the four hour show.
There Will Be No Intermission will be performed at the Princess Theatre from 6pm until 10pm.
