A man and a woman who allegedly evaded police with a traffickable quantity of ice in their car have been charged.

Officers were patrolling in North Hobart about midnight on Saturday when they saw a car being driven with number plates not matching the vehicle, police say.
When police attempted to stop the car it allegedly failed to pull over and headed towards Lenah Valley.
Once the vehicle was stopped the pair were arrested and the vehicle searched. Police found a significant amount of the drug ice.

The woman, 23, was charged with trafficking a controlled substance, resisting arrest, unlicenced driving, use unregistered vehicle, possess a dangerous article, breaching bail conditions and evade police by driving.
A 47-year-old Kingston man was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.
The pair were bailed with specific conditions and will appear in a Hobart court at a later date.
Inspector Brian Edmonds said Tasmania Police remained committed to keeping the community safe through detecting crimes and offences on the state's streets.
