Launceston cyclist Catelyn Turner has narrowly missed another gold medal following a tense under-19 women's race at the road cycling national championships in Victoria.

Having won bronze in the time trial on Wednesday, the former Exeter High School student collected another following a group finish in Saturday's 69.6km road race.
Turner crossed the line in two hours, 11 minutes and nine seconds - the same time as winner Hayley Fuller and time trial winner Alyssa Polites - with 2019 time trial champion Francesca Sewell two seconds back in fourth.

Zac Johnson was Tasmania's best performer in a 139.2km under-23 men's road race won by South Australian 20-year-old Jarrad Drizners.
Johnson, who has won praise from Tour de France star Richie Porte, secured ninth spot by finishing just 2:30 behind Drizner's winning time of three hours, 37 minutes and six seconds.
Zack Gilmore crossed the line nearly 15 minutes behind the winner in 61st spot, while back-to-back Launceston Wheel winner Josh Duffy did not finish.
The championships will wrap up on Sunday with the elite and under-23 women's 104.4km road race around Buninyong, where Tasmanians Anya Louw, Nicole Frain and Macey Stewart will all be in action.
The race starts at 8.50am.
Fellow Tasmanians Alex Lack, Scott Bowden and Ben Van Dam will then compete in the men's 185.6km road race at 12.30pm.
