A man who allegedly threatened a police officer and spat in their face, has appeared in court.

Jarrod Lee Scott, 26, of Launceston, was charged with contravening a notice by threatening his neighbour, disorderly conduct, possessing cannabis, resisting police officer and threatening a police officer. The incidents occurred on Thursday.
It is alleged he told his neighbour he "would find someone to make him drop the charges". It is understood the charges relate to an incident in 2019.

He was then located at Princes Square where he allegedly spat in an officer's face and told them he would "cut your head off" and they should "die and go to hell".
Mr Scott did not enter a plea when he appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Friday afternoon.
Mr Scott appeared before Magistrate Simon Brown.
He was remanded in custody. He will reappear on January 22 at 2.15pm.
