The St Pats Football Club, Hadspen Cricket Club, Meander Valley Football Club, and Westbury Cricket Club are holding a bushfire appeal T20 match on January 17.
Meander Valley FC's Alex Wadley said though a range of other activities would take place, the cricket was the centrepiece. "Westbury and Meander Valley play out of the same home ground, so we'll be combining [into a team]," he said.
"There'll be six top-end Westbury players playing, so some really good talent, and then some not-as-talented footballers having a go. That'll be the same with St Pats and Hadspen."
Wadley said some good cricket would be on offer, while there would be plenty of other entertainment and fundraising activities.
"We will have live music playing after the match on into the night, children's activities to help keep them entertained and also a barbecue for which all the meat has been donated," he said.
"The generosity of businesses and individuals has been amazing, with prizes and cash coming forward to help us raise money through live and silent auctions, cash being donated for every six hit on the night and more."
Wadley said the clubs decided to hold the fundraiser as it was "just a good way of doing our part". "We haven't been affected directly, but there are people in our community that are and obviously Australia as a whole. As clubs, it's important to do those things as we have a profile to do so," he said.
The fundraiser will take place at the Hadspen Recreation Ground from 5.30pm.
