Each year, Tamar Natural Resource Management and volunteers walk along the roadsides of the East and West Tamar to rip out the harmful ragwort weeds from the bushes.
In other news:
Tamar NRM president Roger Tyshing said each year, the amount of ragwort that needs collecting has decreased thanks to efforts by ragwort raiders.
"Those of us around 20 years ago will remember how heavily infested with ragwort some areas in Tasmania were," he said.
"We have gone from collecting truck loads of ragwort to ute loads.
"Our volunteers do a splendid job preventing ragwort from getting a major foothold in the region."
