Owners David Straw and Samantha Burton met in Melbourne, where they helped develop and grow various hospitality businesses in the city.
"We kind of got to dabble, but you don't really get to have your finger in the pie like you do when it's your own [business]," Mr Straw said.

The couple moved to Coles Bay last year, before getting the opportunity to set up shop in the old Shots on Wax space on St John Street.
"The move for us from Melbourne to Tassie was all about getting closer to nature and closer to people," Mr Straw said.
Both Mr Straw and Ms Burton hoped their experience making speciality coffees will give java junkies quite the stir.
"I worked in a roastery back in Melbourne ... and got to really see the benefits of producing high-quality coffee. We decided this place would be speciality at its roots ... partnered with some tasty food," Mr Straw said.
