Flying back into Hobart for scans on Monday, the severity of the 23-year-old's injury picked up against the Perth Scorchers on Sunday night is yet to be confirmed but Hurricanes coach Adam Griffith is looking towards the positives.
"He's been outstanding and that's why we'll be really cautious with managing him through this," Griffith told cricket.com.au.

"We'll get some physio into him when he gets home, get the scans done and see where we're at.
"He finished the over, so that's always a reasonable sign ... we're hoping it's just a minor thing."
Pulling up lame after his third delivery in the Hurricanes' fourth over, Meredith sat out the rest of the game alongside South African international David Miller, who complained of calf tightness during his batting innings.
Unlike Meredith, Miller will travel with the team to Brisbane ahead of Thursday's contest against the Heat, with his fitness to be monitored and a decision to be made before facing Chris Lynn's men.
Despite the Scorchers' match-up providing a positive result for the Hurricanes, the injuries of Meredith and Miller add to a growing list of concerns following an earlier calf strain to all-rounder James Faulkner, which will see him ruled out for two to four weeks.
The Hurricanes will also lose D'Arcy Short, who became the fourth batter on Sunday to make two centuries in Big Bash League history, to Australian duties but will see the return of captain Matthew Wade following the conclusion of the New Zealand Test series.
