The man, a Bruny Island resident, died in hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the ATV crash.
Last Thursday, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew to the scene of the incident, which occurred just before 6pm on Wooreddy Road at Alonnah on Bruny Island.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The rider was on a gravel section of the road and lost control of the 2013 Polaris Sportsman as he came to the intersection with Bruny Island Main Road.
Police said last week that the vehicle had rolled and thrown the man clear.
He was said to have sustained "significant head injuries" after his head hit the surface of the road and was flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a critical condition.
Following the incident, local police and forensic and crash investigation services examined the scene and the area leading up to the crash.
Preliminary investigations suggested excessive speed for the conditions could have been a contributing factor in the crash.
The man was wearing an open-faced helmet at the time and the ATV was not registered, according to police.
Police are asking anyone who saw the ATV prior to the crash to contact Acting Sergeant Adam Hall at Southern Crash Investigation Service on 6230 2111 or Crime Stoppers on 131 444.
