About 4am the attempted burglary took place at the United Service Station on Wellington Street.
Tasmania Police said a white Holden or Isuzu king cab flat tray rammed the window at the front of the business, but the perpetrators failed to gain entry to the building and fled the scene.
About $10,000 damage was caused to the building as a result.
Northern CIB is investigating the incident and is seeking information from members of the public who may know anything about the incident or the identities of those involved.
