The Brett Godfrey-led Tasmanian AFL Taskforce handed over its business plan to the state government, fulfilling a promise for it to be presented before the end of the year.

The taskforce, through the United We Stand campaign, was aiming to "make some noise", with the report a stepping stone to applying for a provisional license.

No details have been released about what is actually in the report to the public, with the state government needing time to digest it first.

Acting premier Jeremy Rockliff welcomed the report.

"The taskforce has delivered a comprehensive document, which the government will now take the appropriate time to consider," Rockliff said.

"It is high time Tasmania had an AFL and AFLW team of its own and we look forward to reviewing the business case and communicating the details and next steps."

The taskforce includes Godfrey, the co-founder of Virgin Australia Airlines, St Kilda champ Nick Riewoldt, former Woolworths chief Grant O'Brien, Tasmanian business identity Errol Stewart, former GWS Giants chief financial officer and current TasRacing chief executive Paul Eriksson, executive chairman of Dynamic Sports and Entertainment Group James Henderson and Lauderdale president Julie Kay, with former Carlton coach Brendon Bolton an advisor.

Attempts by The Examiner for comment from taskforce members on Friday were unsuccessful.

The United We Stand online campaign finished with 64,232 pledging their support to the cause.

It passed its 50,000 target in early October.
