The health system dashboard was updated on Friday to include statistics over September.

It showed the elective surgery waiting list had grown by 282 patients since August or by 1245 patients since the start of the year.

There were 3909 patients on the waiting list at the Launceston General Hospital, 964 patients on the waiting list at the Mersey Community Hospital, and 1043 on the waiting list at the North-West Regional Hospital.

Over the 12 months until September, 17,677 elective surgery patients had been admitted to hospital for their procedure.

Fifty-seven per cent of patients were seen within the recommended waiting time over the month.

The median waiting time for an elective surgery procedure was 56 days.

Hospitals postponed 206 scheduled elective surgery procedures over the month.

Health Minister Sarah Courtney said despite the growth in the waiting list, non-urgent category three patients waiting longest for their surgery experienced better waiting times than under the previous government.

"The government has made no secret of the fact that the number of people added to the waiting list during the last financial year is more than 3000 greater than five years ago," she said.

"This is exactly why we fought so hard to have the Morrison Coalition Government bring forward funding for more elective surgery and more endoscopies.

"The $20 million of funding will help thousands of Tasmanians to get elective surgeries and endoscopies."

She said there had been 3000 more occasions of service through Oral Health Services Tasmania in the September Quarter compared to the previous three months.

Ms Courtney said there had been 120,000 episodes of care delivered through OHST in the past 12 months.

The oral health waiting list grew to 13,323 patients which was an increase of 3255 patients since the start of the year.

The new data showed 61 per cent of patients admitted to state hospital emergency departments left within four hours. There were 13,650 emergency department presentations over September.

Sixty-two of these patients were seen to within the maximum time frame in accordance with their condition.

There were 2728 women screened for breast cancer over September.
