The state body unveiled an eight-team, 21-round competition on Thursday, with the season scheduled to kick off on March 21 and conclude September 5.

Northern pair Riverside Olympic and Launceston City will play the competition's sole Friday night fixture in a round four derby at Prospect Park, while South Hobart will play five of its home games on a Sunday afternoon.

Football Tasmania chief executive Matt Bulkeley said the rosters had been drawn up with a view of providing more consistency for clubs.

"There's not a lot of games outside of Saturday and we consulted again on that aspect with the clubs and their preference as to have primarily Saturday fixtures," Bulkeley said.

"We've staggered the kick-offs so there's some spread in that respect, but the preference was to have that big matchday and not have too many standalone fixtures.

"The feedback was we've had too much of that in the past and clubs with having different teams in different places at the same time, we've listened and we've come out with rosters that we think reflect that feedback."

Riverside Olympic will begin its campaign by tackling last season's champion Devonport and runner-up Olympia in the opening two rounds.

Alex Gaetani's men will play five consecutive games in the North between rounds six and 10 before a run of three Southern trips in rounds 13-15.

Roger Hardwicke's first game as Launceston City coach will be a Prospect Park clash with Kingborough, with a run of three home games between rounds four and six to follow.

City, Riverside, Devonport and Glenorchy will all play 11 home games during the season with Olympia, Kingborough, South Hobart and Clarence allotted 10 each.

Clarence, who merged with Hobart at the conclusion of last season, will meet Glenorchy in the opening round.

The focus on creating triple-headers will also see women's soccer across the state played almost exclusively on Sundays.

"Super League Sundays we're calling it," Bulkeley said.

"Essentially all WSL will be on a Sunday with the exception in 2020 of Ulverstone, who will be playing still on a Saturday as part of their Northern matchday, but the move will be to have all WSL playing on a Sunday in 2021 and beyond.

"In that respect we're confident that what we'll achieve is a big matchday for our female players and I guess broadly more sustainable clubs where we can have more games going on and economically it's a better situation for our clubs."

The six-team Women's Super League will also get under way on March 21 with Ulverstone the North's sole representative for the second year running.
