Federal Attorney-General Christian Porter is yet to directly respond to lawyers' desperate pleas for him to visit Launceston and see for himself the state of the local Family Court facilities.

Mr Porter has committed to visiting the city to examine the court complex, on the corner of George and Brisbane streets, but is yet to nail down a date.
It's understood the Attorney-General is currently overseas. Upon contacting his office, The Examiner was referred to previous comments Mr Porter made, in which he said he would visit the court "at the next available opportunity".

The chief issues at the court include the fact attendees are required to use the same lift and the same small waiting room.
A violent incident occurred at the Family Court facility last month, when a man attempted to jump the front counter, causing minor damage while children were present.
Family Law Practitioners Association of Tasmania chairwoman Julia Higgins said she'd sent "a couple" of letters to Mr Porter about the problems plaguing the court but had not received any response which was "very disappointing".
"We are concerned that the recent [incident] was only just the tip of the iceberg," Ms Higgins said. "There's going to be something worse than that."

"Moving into January, we're going to have to start thinking ... about what else we can do.
"Because we just don't seem to have made progress with the Attorney-General's department.
"Everyone else is listening and agreeing."
In August, former Law Society of Tasmania president Evan Hughes said it was "only a matter of time before somebody is hurt" as a result of the "failings" of the current Family Court building.
