Cannell's enormous throws of 34.08m (under-12 girls' discus) and 12.70m (under-12 girls' shot put) were the only new records set in perfect conditions at Northern Athletics Centre.
Athletes from 19 different clubs - spanning St Helens in the East, Burnie in the North-West and Huon Valley in the South - competed across under-6 to under-15 brackets.

"There were a lot of good performances throughout the day," competition director Brett Gillow said.
"A lot of athletes achieved personal bests and a lot of athletes did what we call state qualifiers, which gives them the opportunity to participate at the state championships held in March.
"The whole day went really smoothly, we finished ahead of time and there was great participation and great effort on behalf of all the athletes and all the volunteers who make it possible."
Saturday's statewide meet was the last before Christmas, with three more to follow before the season's end.
The state multi-event will take place in January, followed by the relay championships in February and the state championships on the March long weekend in Launceston.
