Department of Health deputy secretary Ross Smith is due to give evidence to the hearing in Canberra on Friday.
The hearing will also hear evidence from Victorian Department of Health and Human Services deputy secretary Terry Symonds, ACT Health Directorate director general Michael De'Ath and Northern Territory Department of Health deputy chief executive Dr Maggie Jamieson.
The Canberra hearings have focused on the interface between the aged care and health care systems, including both Commonwealth and state or territory programs.

Last month, a week-long hearing in Hobart scrutinised the operations of aged care providers Southern Cross Care and Bupa.
The commission will deliver its final report in November 2020.
