Launceston City Mission has officially opened its new office space which will be used for youth engagement programs The Mish and Mish Makers.

City Mission chief executive Stephen Brown said the two initiatives help provide activities for those who would otherwise be disengaged with school or not participate in the community.
"They [young people] come in here just to grow in confidence in activities so they can take the next step," Mr Brown said.
"It's a wonderful asset that's been created for the youth of Launceston.
"I'm sure now for years to come it'll be a place for a lot of them to get back on track and find pathways to a future in the city."

The redevelopment took about eight months.
The space will be used for after and during school programs as well as skill classes and art exercises.
Federal Youth and Sport Minister Richard Colbeck officially opened the new space and said it was a wonderful re-use of an old building.
