Paterson Street Car Park
WHY is it in 2019 after the City of Launceston council spends money on fully automating this car park that it is closed at a ridiculously early time on a Sunday?

Why isn't it a 24/7 operation?
At the very least look after Village Cinema patrons and close after the last show. A little working together with rate-paying businesses wouldn't go astray in my opinion.

Israel Folau Saga
I AM really glad for Israel Folau that he has rights to his Christian views against the rugby club that has no moral values.

Launceston Developments
NEIL Grose (The Examiner, December 6) said recent developments which have been canned was due to burdensome planning requirements, hang about.
These regulations are in place for a reason, mainly that Inveresk is a flood plain, they are to protect the people who live in this area and any visitors who would need to be evacuated safely, an executive should be aware of those. You will, of course, bring up the flood levy, however, with climate change happening in the future our Tamar River will rise with the sea levels.
I applaud our City of Launceston council for applying for the correct procedures and not, in this case, wavering for short-term commercial gain.
Ron Baines, Kings Meadows.
Stan Siejka Cycling Classic
IN perfect conditions, the Stan Siejka Launceston Classic was indeed aforementioned.
With well-known cycling commentator Mike Tomalaris and Pat Shaw's expert comments, made a very informative commentary team, albeit Mike referring to the hazardous peanut-roundabout as the "peanut gallery," bemusing some fans stationed at this right turn, which claimed two women and two men riders respectively, with unfortunate, but low impact falls.
The women's race was dominated by 19-year-old rising Australian star Sarah Gigante, although Jaime Gunning was having a titanic battle with Gigante before losing her wheel chain. The men's race was a sprint to the line contest, with the eventual winner being Cameron Ivory.
With a high attrition rate for both elite women's and men's races, there is speculation that a course change may be expected for 2020 - but please include the "peanut gallery" for 2020, with electric motorbikes and support car for future classics.
Kenneth Gregson, Swansea.
Pollies Responsibility
I WOULD very much like to hear from Senator Wendy Askew why she and her fellow seat holders voted for Medevac repeal without knowledge of the content of the secret clauses in the proposal?
Has the requirement for intelligence and compassion been removed from the parliamentary job description?
