The updated routes come as a result of months of community consultation by the Department of State Growth.
There are numerous changes to routes through the city, with new routes in and out listed below.
Bus times for the new routes may differ from current ones. For more information about the changes visit metrotas.com.au.
Riverside and Trevallyn
The five routes operating around Trevallyn and Riverside will be condensed into two - the 150 and 151.
The 151 will run through Cormiston and Ecclestone roads and the 150 will run around Penrith Street and Riverside Drive.
Both routes will run through Pomona Road towards Gorge Road and not continue down the West Tamar Highway.
However, Manions bus routes 780, 781 and 785 will operate along the highway unchanged.
Mowbray, Mayfield and Invermay
Routes through the northern suburbs will remain largely unchanged, with new route numbers 117, 115 and 116 running through Alanvale/Newnham, Rocherlea and Mayfield respectively towards Invermay.
There will be one route running through the Newnham University of Tasmania campus: the 110.
It will run about every 30 minutes during the day through the city to Kings Meadows. This replaces the three bus routes that previously ran through the university during the day.
All four new bus routes will run along Invermay Road, past UTAS' Inveresk campus towards the city as part of a Turn Up and Go bus network.
