Young Seeds Secretary Jacinta Morgan said the organisation had been around since about 2012.
"We are a volunteer committee based in Launceston, we find disadvantaged and refugee kids in South Sudan and help them go to school safely in Uganda," she said.
"A lot of those kids are orphaned ... we've got two in-country co-ordinators who make sure they've got safe places to stay and that all their needs are met and they're safe."

According to Ms Morgan, a Hepatitis B outbreak in refugee camps containing sponsored children resulted in the charity funding vaccinations for those who were old enough.
However, one of the children contracted the disease before a vaccine could be administered.
"Young Seeds has been fund raising for the last six months for the child's treatment," Ms Morgan said.
"She has been given the tentative all-clear so the treatment has been successful."
Mr Morgan said three of the sponsored children are now going to university to study medicine as well as humanitarian and international law.
