On Saturday, thousands lined the streets to watch the Launceston Christmas Parade.
The Apex Club of Tamar had run the annual parade for about 30 years, however the reins were handed over to the City of Launceston Lions Club for the 2019 event.
This year's theme was Santa's Workshop, with all entry fees from this year's event will be donated to New Horizons.
Since 1986, New Horizons has provided sport and recreational activities to those living with a disability.
The community will be given the chance to vote for their favorite float by heading to the LA FM and Chilli FM websites.
All winners will be announced on December 14.
The Christmas cheer didn't end with the parade.
Launceston's CBD was brought to life by the City of Launceston council's Open Streets event, part of the Tomorrow Together community engagement program.
It was St John Street and the Avenue stay open for hours following the parade to allow the community to walk or ride through the streets.
Children's activities, a scooter stunt course, face painting, a jumping castle, and live entertainment took place in the closed streets.
Metro buses were also free in and out of the city.
Other Christmas events in Launceston included the Launceston Christmas and Holiday Expo at the Italian Club at Prospect, and the Tasmanian Makers Christmas Expo at Civic Square.
